DAVID SKANTAR
David Skantar has been on the faculty of Palm Beach Atlantic University as an adjunct since 1976. He currently teaches classical guitar lessons, Class Guitar I and Class Guitar II, and directs the Guitar Ensemble. He has a Master of Music degree, in guitar performance, from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, also in guitar performance, from Florida Atlantic University. When he’s not at PBAU, Mr. Skantar teaches general and instrumental music at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic School in Delray Beach, FL.

Mr. Skantar has over 30 years experience as a professional freelance musician performing solo classical guitar and various styles of chamber music (and even some rock and pop music) throughout the South Florida area. He toured Costa Rica as a member of the Ruck Classical Guitar Ensemble and is a member of the Nearly Baroque Trio (flute, oboe, guitar) that plays a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to Broadway.

David and his wife, Peggy, are active in the music ministry at their church, St. Paul of the Cross, and throughout the Diocese of Palm Beach. He has a personal project studio at their home for the production of various Christian and other musical recording projects. Mr. Skantar’s other main interests are tennis and fishing.
