THE WILLIAM R. & ESTHER V. ELLIS SCHOLARSHIP
FUND
Who are William R. ("Bill") and
Esther V. Ellis?
One of the happiest, most loving, gracious
and giving couples that ever graced this
earth. They were
both well-known and beloved throughout this
community and around the world.
Bill Ellis was a well-known and loved CPA
here in Miami, Florida, who was often referred
to as the "CPA's CPA". Esther,
was the "jewel" on his arm. She
was Valedictorian of her High School and
was voted one of the "Most Beautiful
Activists" in Miami having been on the
board of the March of Dimes, the Dade-County
Safety Council and many other Community Organizations.
She was also a singer, songwriter, recording
artist and a film producer. (You can read
her biography here: Esther Ellis) They both were involved in the music and
film industries with their daughter, Cathy Ellis, and were very supportive of the University
of Miami School of Music and the UM Summer
Guitar, Bass-Guitar and Drumset Camp. (You
can click here to watch a music video of
their loving life together through an award-winning
song written by Esther and Cathy from their
film musical, "Abraham & Sarah"
coming to theatres soon! "You Were Meant To Be Mine" )
Over the past twenty years, Esther, along
with daughter Cathy, co-sponsored this wonderful
camp along with Ellis Family Music Company.
Both Bill and Esther believed that, "A
good Education is important in helping one
achieve great heights and helping one to
become all that one can be". Bill and
Esther's friends have given generously throughout
the past twenty years and continue to give
generously, in an effort to honor their memories
and to help young musicians achieve great
heights.
